Jane Krakowski for Sweet Charity

In a recent StageNotes by Broadway.com the editor suggests Jane Krakowski should be the next Charity Hope Valentine. How right is he? Come on producers get rid of Marissa Tomei (who I hear can't sing a note)! This role was written for Jane Krakowski. Stay with us Jane! We love you on Broadway.

Wow, we are two for two....and let me go on a limb on suggest the prefect Charity for the FILM REMAKE of Sweet Charity:

Renee Zellwegger

Now, lets not get into a convesation about how a Broadway star should do the film version as it is a precedent that has has been handed down since the begining of time, that very rarely, if ever happens... so...

Jane can do Broadway..

Renee can do the film...

I would take Jane or Renee over Marisa anyday.

Haha...excellent idea. But Jane would be far better than Renee (who I loved in Chicago, but there's no guestion that Jane is more talented). Updated On: 6/12/03 at 09:28 AM

Now, lets not sell Marisa short just yet..

I still remember the panic and insults that were thrown Tyne Daly's way before the first Gypsy preview in NY..

How dare she?

Can the TV Cop sing?

This will be unacceptable..

Then people started walking out LIMPING from watching the performance she gave on that stage...People were just beside themselves at how fantastic she was...overwelmed

..and lest not forget the four letter word; Reba; who from the first preview, gave a performance of near mythic proportions...

So..let's wait till She does even a full workshop of it to throw the stones...

Tis true, tis true. But I know someone who has seen Marissa's audition tape for Chicago and said she was truly awful. But if they got rid of Jenna Elfman to get Marissa there must be something good about her. The thing about Marissa is that I don't really even love her that much as an actress. With Tyne at least we knew she could act the role, and Reba was just an interesting idea at first to me (I never thought she would be bad- but Susan Lucci- now that was pitiful)

Jane is perfect for the role! and I agree about Renee in a filmed version. Marissa can play one of her hooker friends LOL And can we please refrain from mentioning Susan Lucci so close to Brodway related things again...it's painful.
