Is there ANYTHING that runs during the evening of the 1st?

Actually, that's a Saturday night -- I would bet EVERY show has a performance that night.

Margo,
I've been looking at Ticketmaster and Telecharge and Saturady is just a gray box for a lot of shows, (with the exception of RENT), with no show time listed. Perhaps I should call...

Shows come up with their own schedules for Xmas and New Years weeks -- special matinees, extra performances, cancellation of other performances. There's usually a special holiday schedule that is released for those weeks around this time. Perhaps this year shows have decided to give performances on New Years Eve (since they'll all be out well before midnight), but then give everybody the next night off to celebrate (are there matinees the next afternoon?).
Perhaps you should call -- I'm surprised so many shows would go dark on holiday weekend Saturday night.

Frustrating as hell. UGH! It IS weird isn't it that they would opt to be dark on a Staurday night when so many tourists will peobably still be in town after the New Year's Eve Celebration. I shall have to call. I know Avenue Q is doing a 2:00 PM showing on the 31st and taking the night off. But I don't think I can get there early enough. Damn.

I tend to like Playbill Online's listing of the New Year's Eve schedule:

Thanks for that Abridged -- looks like there are plenty of choices for January 1st.
