Hey everyone,

I will be heading to the city in January. The shows I am for sure seeing are: Rent and Porgy and Bess. I have room for two more shows. Which would you recommend from the following: Seminar, Follies, War Horse, Avenue Q or How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying?

I also have a few questions:

1) I would love to try and see Book of Mormon. How early should I get there to try and get lottery tickets?

2) I can only afford rear mezz A-F for Porgy and Bess with the broadwaybox discount code. I realize no one has seen the show in this setting, but for those who have sat in these rows at the Richard Rogers, how is the view?

Thanks!

Lotto names are called two hours before the show. It can get so crowded I'd recommend getting there two and a half hours before the show.

If you're a Sondheim fan, FOLLIES is a must! Even if you're not, go see it anyway. January Trip Qs

I sat in Rear Mezz Right Row G for In The Heights...while the view is fine, it is a HIKE up those stairs and I felt like I was watching the show from a mile away.

And I second the fact that Follies is an absolute MUST.

I sat in Rear Mezz A for In the Heights and I agree that the view from there is perfectly fine, especially if you're looking to save some money.

I also agree that Follies is a must-see. And War Horse is nothing short of stunning. I'd go with those two if you're able. I think War Horse also just released a Broadwaybox could, but I could be wrong. In any case, that one's worth a splurge.

In terms of Book of Mormon, there's lots of detailed information about lotto and related things on the board, but, in essence, hundreds of people enter the lotto each day and it's very tough to win. If you're willing to wait all day, you can get in line for standing room, which is a much easier bet if you get there earlier and it's a great value. $27 at the back of the orchestra...I did it and it's so worth it.
