me101 - Sorry you just found out.

"A year ago today, April 8th, we celebrated the life of Jason Raize @ The New Amsterdam Theatre."

We did, didn't we? What a wonderful service. There were soooooooo many pictures of Jason, from when he was a little boy all the way up to his last few weeks in Australia. Listening to "Endless Night" play at the end was absolutely heartbreaking, though.

I miss him.

Last i heard, the label was suppose to be releasing his debut cd....anyone else hear about this? We all know how 'common' it is for the industry to try and cash in on an artist after they've died.

Yes, TruthLasso, it was very heartbreaking to sit through Endless Night. In fact, I can't listen to the song still. I just see that photo of him projected on the screen. But it was a wonderful service. I found it ironic the topic came up a year to the day of his memorial service.

I read reports last year about them releasing his album, but I wasn't sure if they were current. I also don't know what they'd gain from it outside of record sales. Would have been nice for him, but to do it now would be futile, and in some cases painful.

The Lion King was the second show I saw on Broadway as a child
When I heard read what happened last year, I pulled out my program and realized I had seen the original cast
Whatever problems Jason Raize had in his life, hopefully he has now found peace

TheatreManiac, I have to admit I don't listen to the song much either. It always seems to bring all the terrible feelings back, and it's bad enough that we're going to have so many unanswered questions hanging over our heads for the rest of our lives.

And for everyone else...I want to put a stop to the drug rumors. Right now. Drugs had nothing to do with it, and seriously, if you don't know the details, then it's probably better not to say anything. Thanks.

I think it would be great if they released the cd...I heard the one mentioned on Ebay and loved it. Perhaps that would allow him to be remembered for the music he was so passionate about and not the negative circumstances which ended his life.
He was a wonderful and beautiful performer and I hope he found peace.
