BTW- per INNEWSWEEKLY (gay paper in New England) and I "kinda" dont trust them- they like anything that's gay ! in regardless....

La vie en porn
'A SOPHISTICATED EVENING WITH JEFF STRYKER' IS 10 INCHES OF FUN

There is something about Jeff Stryker, besides the obvious. He is an icon of porn, the sexual revolution and gay liberation, but he also has a certain aura about him that would melt even the most devoted Al Parker or Joey Stefano fans. The term "porn star" is so overused it almost doesn't mean anything anymore. But Jeff Stryker is the real deal; the original superstar of porn.

"A Sophisticated Evening With Jeff Stryker" is ultimately a really good time. It's a reminder that sex should be fun and that enjoying sex and sexuality is not something to feel guilty or shameful about. Throughout the evening Stryker speaks about growing up in the Midwest, the early and somewhat awkward days of his porn career, his son and being a father and the court case over a broken contract and hundreds of thousands of dollars in residuals from the sale of the 10-inch Jeff Stryker dildo.

Written by Emmy Award winning writer Bruce Vilanch, "A Sophisticated Evening With Jeff Stryker" is full of clever quips and erotically laced jokes that can make the more prudish audience members relax. And perhaps one of the more humorous portions of the show is a music video of Stryker's country-western novelty song "Pop Ya' in the Pooper." Yes, indeed, that's a moment to remember.

And toward the end one audience members gets to go on stage and help demonstrate what it is like on a porn set. No worries for those who shy away from audience participation like myself. He asks for volunteers and it doesn't take long for hands to shoot up amongst those who paid extra to be in the front few rows.

Then there is the grand finale, where Stryker re-emerges on stage to show you his legendary p*n*s. No it was not trick photography or some sort of realistic prosthetic; it's freaking huge. And no matter what ticket price you pay, Stryker parades through the Post Office Cabaret so everyone can see up close, so much so that once as he passed by climbing on the benches I had to duck to make sure I didn't get whacked in the head.

"A Sophisticated Evening With Jeff Stryker" is not great theater nor is it akin to Sir Lawrence Olivier's soliloquy in "Hamlet." It is great fun and a glimpse into the private life of an otherwise very public person. Go see it. The show is a good time. And even if you aren't interested in what he has to say there is no shame in paying twenty-something bucks to see Jeff Stryker's p**is. •

I just read a review in IN NEWSWEEKLY that made me question if tht reporter even SAW the show.. he mentioned things that did not happen in the show. IN has gone way downhill over the past few months.. everything is written by one person and the number of stories has dwindeled.

Things I Did Not Like:
Score : - Look at the tittle above..yup. I did not like this show! and there's nothing I like about it re: Jaystarr's 10/10 Special Summer Edition Report on Provincetown's Theater (with pics ! )

Bob, a friend of mine was telling me last Monday at the gym (July 23) that our friend David have seen a show (play) about Jeff Stryker, the well known porno star in the 80's & 90's era in Provincetown last 4th of July. He said he liked the play a lot and suprisingly Jeff Stryker is a good actor plus Bruce Vilanch wrote it and its very funny. So basically, I was interested on what's the buzz all about.

We really did not have a plan to go to P-Town this week bec. its supposed to rain
and its also Family Week re: Jaystarr's 10/10 Special Summer Edition Report on Provincetown's Theater (with pics ! ) But somehow the weather forecast in New England had deviated from what's supposedly cloudy & rain to sunny skies and very humid all weekend long. So we decided at the last minute to pack our bags and head down to the Cape.

I decided to check out this play/ monologue about the life of Jeff Stryker but Chris decided not to go bec. the last time he saw a one man-play/monologue called " The Confession of a Mormon Boy " here Boston at BCA , he did not like it at all. So I went all by myself to see this play (1 hr/ no intermission ) for $ 31.00 at the notorious
church-like Post -Office Cabaret in Commercial St. There was about 24 people in the audience (Five lesbian and all gay men) The play started with a montage about
Jeff Stryker going to a signing engagement/talk & naked dance strip number in a LA Club. (not in proper order) Paris Hilton was in the montage too. It was so confusing bec. I dont know if she's there going to the said event or seeking his autograph, but it does not correlate at all to the montage nor the story or just for the purpose of putting Paris Hilton in the video montage which really does not makes sense at all.

Then the screen was lifted to reveal Mr. Stryker looking at himself at the mirror and giving himself compliments. He talked to the audience of 24 in a monolgue style play about early childhood in Missouri/Illiniois, growing up having that one particular humungous gift that he possesed and he fondly called it "Miles". Jokingly
said that he doesn't really want to get excited, oftentimes he passed out bec. all his blood goes to his private part. Then there was another montage featuring his infamous "action toy figure" in an MTV style video singing a number about Poop & Poppers (sorry can't remember the title of the song ) The second part of his monologue talks about having an child who is now an teenager and explaining to him about his job. He cracked a joke saying.."talking about Tony Soprano explaining to his kids about his job, he really has no idea ! " but most of the time he talked about staring in a porno movie. This is the part where he asked the audience for a volunteer to go up in the stage with with him (there was a bed) to re-enact a scene in a porno movie (of course with clothes on ) and if there's no volunteer , he will pick the volunteer himself from the audience. but no one voluntered , so he picked one and guess who he picked ? ......... re: Jaystarr's 10/10 Special Summer Edition Report on Provincetown's Theater (with pics ! )

I kindly turned him down and I told him that I am a very shy person (which is not my character at all ) somehow I was starting to feel a bit "uncomfortable" with the entire show-I dont know why? ) So he picked another guy , then they went to the stage and acted as if they were in a p*rno movie. I was so glad that I did not do it.

After that there was another montage- this time - it was a bit weird ... its hard to describe. It looks like it was shot in the late 80's and he was in a table , where he is being served as a meal all covered by syrup to the group of hungry people. It was bizzare , then there was a montage about the LA gay pride. The whole monogue with its video montages lasted about 45 minutes and most of the time .. I was almost dozzing bec. It was nice and cold inside the cabaret compared to the intolerable humidity outside, but you cant really fall asleep completely bec. there's waiter thru the entire play that keeps asking you if you wanna order a beer or a water.

The finale was the 15 minutes dance performance of Mr. Stryker all oiled up & naked leaping to the church like benches of the cabaret in a red spot light . (BTW - Nudity is legal now in Provincetown after the last town meeting /fight that took place five years ago with the Naked Boys Singing's controversy- but definitely touching is not allowed) After the show... Audience can take a picture with the naked Mr. Stryker for $20.00 with their own Polaroid camera . After the show .. I asked the some guys if they liked the show.. they told me.. " The show sucks but were in here in P-Town for a vacation and we wanted to see the "legend" re: Jaystarr's 10/10 Special Summer Edition Report on Provincetown's Theater (with pics ! )

In regards to Mr. Stryker's acting skills- I never really seen him in any of his videos. I will say that I felt like I went to a Human Resources Orientation Seminar and listen to a speaker in a podium explaining my all benefits . As I step out of the Post Office Cabaret Theater... I finally .."as one would say" did my walk of shame thru Commercial Street .... re: Jaystarr's 10/10 Special Summer Edition Report on Provincetown's Theater (with pics ! )
