In exactly a week from today (today, meaning March 10, 2006) Jenna Leigh Green will take over for Cristy Candler. David Garrison will take over for Ben Vereen on April 4th, I believe.

Wait a minute, how long has Cristy been Nessa?

First off, there is already a thread announcing this.

Second, Cristy was Witch's Mother/ Nessa u/s in the OBC and performed for Michelle quite a bit. She left, and then came back and took over for Michelle January 10th on a temporary basis. She leaves permanently next Thursday, as you said.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

best of luck, i saw the two in Florida (Jenna as Elphaba) and was blown away and just loved the show! Best of Luck!

I hope Jenna Leigh Green remains an understudy for Elphaba; she was wonderful in the role.

She won't be understudying Elphaba on Broadway.

When I saw the show in Florida, I asked her at the stage door if she would continue to understudy Elphaba, and she said no, because it was a different track with the Broadway company.

She seemed sad about it, but said she understood and was happy to make her Broaday debut and make the best of her times as Elphaba on the tour.
