Did anyone else catch this on Saturday? It was my first time at the Pace Auditorium, great space. A pal is on faculty and had some comps as it wasn't selling well. Still, many empty seats upstairs, a shame.
My highlights: Lee Roy Reams, still have great memories of him dancing on the coin in We're in the Money in the original 42nd Street. Klea! Always a pleasure! Beth Leavell! Loved her!
Not sure why the marketing is so focused on the orchestra, I had no idea who the singers would be until I got there. This would help sales. While the orchestra was good, the music director was very distracting trying to steal focus it seemed. The only other time this happened to me is during the Full Monty, I forgot her name, but boy was she a distraction. Anyway, great space! Confirmed the need for more Herman revivals!
