I've seen JB 3 times---each with the OBC, but there was something about last night's performance----it was electric! Maybe I was just so relieved to see this cast, after the anxiety of the contract extensions----but, whatever---they were all at peak performance and the audience loved it. The only different cast member was an u/s for Francine. My brother was up from Florida and was blown away---Oh, what a night. :)
John Lloyd Young is good, but Michael Longoria is THE Frankie Valli to see. Simply stunning in EVERY turn. Had there been a Tony contention between Michael and John (not possible, but a hypothetical), Michael would take it, hands down. No question.
I didn't stagedoor----I was really tempted--but decided not to. Broadwayguy2---I can understand your opinion about Michael Longoria----he is amazing to watch onstage----whether he's Joey or some other character---he has such a presence!
Saw the show last Friday night for the ?th time, and John sounded better than he has in a long time, although still some roughness with the very high falsetto. I agree that Michael is fabulously talented and hope that he gets the opportunity to play the role full-time someday.
