That was, what, the third time Jersey Boys has gotten to perform on the Tonys?
Is it just me, or does anyone else think that it's ridiculous that an already well-established show has gotten so much national TV exposure? Jersey Boys is going to gross a million a week for quite a while, but times are tough and there are other shows that might get a much-needed bump from that kind of publicity. Why do they keep shilling Jersey Boys year after year?
The mob's totally in on it.....
They want those road companies to keep suckin' up the money.
At least their performance was ok. The LEGALLY BLONDE number looked chintzy, and that MAMMA MIA group did something I thought was impossible: make "Dancing Queen" a bore.
Jersey Boys is the Tonys equivalent of Little Sally and Lockstock.
I lol'ed in my head, Lizzie. I need to put that in my signature.
Did anyone ever identify who the 5 Frankies were?
They were from the following companies: Broadway, Las Vegas, Chicago, the tour and one other city (I think Toronto). I know the Broadway one was Jarrod Spector. If you look up a video of the performance on YouTube, I am sure you can match up faces with whoever is in each cast.
They were Jarrod Spector (Broadway), Joe Bwarie ("Toronto"), Courter Simmons ("Tour"), Rick Faugno (Vegas), and Dominic Scaglione (Chicago).
Joe Bwarie represented Toronto even though he's not the current Toronto Frankie, and Courter Simmons represented the tour even though he's Joe Pesci.
Didn't they perform at the Golden Globes too? Even Wicked doesn't have this much overexposure.
Isn't Joe Bwarie the National Tour Frankie?
Didn't they perform at the Golden Globes too?
No, the Emmys.
Isn't Joe Bwarie the National Tour Frankie?
Yes, he is, but he was technically the first Frankie in Toronto. Still...
Since they decided to use Joe Bwarie for Toronto even though he's with the tour now, they could have totally mixed and matched for even more confusion, since many of the guys featured have been in various casts. Rick Faugno could have been the Tour Frankie, and Dominic Scaglione could have been Broadway or Vegas, while Jarrod Spector could have been Tour or Chicago.
The Emmys appearance was a very strange tribute for The Sopranos.

I couldn't help comparing. Sounded like Courter can do the highest falsetto voice and Rick the lowest and Jarrod and Dominic in the middle range.
Rick has a GREAT baritone. He's a total showoff during Who Loves You. :)
