I have been swamped at work lately and sadly unable to keep up with my theatre news. But I was talking to my mother this morning and she mentioned that she heard somewhere that Frankie Valli is going to play himself in Jersey Boys for four days in November?
Admittedly, I didn't search extensively, but I cannot find anything that supports the validity of this statement and I really want to know if it's true or not

I haven't heard anything about this, there is nothing about this on any of the JB sites.
The only thing I know of that Frankie is doing in Nov is Performing at the Rose Theater.

Yeah, she's not too good with the details sometimes.
Do you mean the Rose theatre at the Time Warner center?

I doubt he'd do Jersey Boys.
I saw an interview, and he's a little weary/ against the show.

Posted: 9/17/06 at 12:01amAt the Tonys he gave JLY a standing ovation when he won. I'm sure he is fine with the show. I don't think that Jersey Boys would have him do any shows, at least yet. The show is sold out for a while and they do not need any stunts like this. In a few years, then maybe something like this will happen.

I'm wondering that too. I'd really like see/read/hear that interview because from what I've heard, he likes it.

From what I read yesterday in the NY Times, Frankie will be performing at the Rose Theater around Thanksgiving in concert (not playing himself in JB):
"Making his first performance in Manhattan since the opening of “Jersey Boys” on Broadway, Frankie Valli is to sing at the Rose Theater, Broadway at 60th Street, for four nights around the Thanksgiving holiday, Nov. 22 and 24 through 26."
On all the interviews I've read & seen on TV or the web show Valli as being thrilled w/Jersey Boys & I've also read that he thinks Brickman & Elice did a "brilliant" job telling the story.

Posted: 9/17/06 at 11:39amI can't really see him doing the entire show---but I could very well picture him coming onstage for the "epilogue" at the end.

DRSislove - I doubt he's against the show. Marshall Brickman and Rik Elice went to him and Bob Gaudio to learn the story and the show couldn't have been done without his permission. Also he's an investor in the show.
As for the original question about appearing, highly unlikely - he's a singer not an actor.
