Via his facebook:
"It's OFFICIAL!!!! And probably the worst kept secret in show business but if you check Playbill on Line or any other of our theatre internet organs, it will be announced that I am going to play Sheridan Whiteside in the first major New York revival in twelve years of The Man Who Came To Dinner. I just wanted to let my friends here know before it hit the papers. This is a great honor to be only th fourth man to play this part in New York following in thee footsteps of Monty Wooley, Ellis Raab and Nathan Lane. We open at the Theatre at St. Clements on 46th November 25th. I'm plotzing!"
This is my favorite play and Jim is perfect to Sherry. Can't wait!

It's a very tricky role, but it's one of the best in the canon of American theater. (Disclaimer: I am associated with the production but I'm not speaking, officially, for them).
I was lucky enough to be able to attend the auditions, and this cast is unbelievable. The talent that came into that room left me breathless. Some had me in tears, literally within seconds of saying barely a few words. How rich the feeling to be in a room with a great actor.
Then they told me why. Because of how rarely the play gets done in New York (cast of 24!), then veteran actors who truly love theater, who know its traditions, and are devoted to their craft want to be in a Kaufman & Hart play in New York. It's like doing Shakespeare.
We're very excited, but it's on a very limited contract, with extremely limited numbers of available seats. And that's not just a marketing ploy.
And hello. I've haven't been on the boards in some time.
