anything...anything..bueller? I mean, don't they begin rehearsals soon?
I've been wondering the same thing. It's gonna have to be someone pretty special to fill Sutton's shoes. Can't wait to hear who I'll be seeing in Los Angeles.

I know Julie Burdick who played Laurie in the recent Oklahoma tour will be covering the role (as well as all the other sisters).

Awww, good for her! She was very sweet.
They're having trouble casting it for a few reasons...first off they're offering little to no money for it to the "name" actors they want in the role, and on top of that, Marmie (Maureen McGovern) apparently gets final bow when the actor playing Jo has presumably just carried the entire show.

Could is also possibly be that no actor with a recognizable name wants to actually play the role? It is really written very poorly. Perhaps this will give someone new a chance?

All the promotional materials already went out saying it was Maureen McGovern in Little Women, so I'm betting that they'll go an unknown route. That's probably the best way to go, too.
My info could be off but I heard that Kate Fisher (just played Eliza in MY FAIR LADY at the Helen Hayes) has the offer.
Marmee gets the last bow? that doesn't seem very fair. No offense to Maureen but camthom is right Jo carries the whole show. No Jo No Show (ha i just made a rhyme :P)

I wish that Sutton Foster would play Jo on the Little Women tour... that is honestly what I was really truly hoping for, but obviously it's not going to happen. I don't really understand curtain call bows, but whatever floats their boat.

that's the thing with Broadway...if there's a huge star, she's going to get the final bow, even if someone else carried the entire show. however, "Days of Plenty" is a breathtaking song, but at any rate, this has nothing to do with the post.
I don't know who's going to be Jo, but hopefully they will somehow be able to at least PARTIALLY fill in Sutton's shoes! but more than likely, she will be unknown, because she'll screw the final bow in order to catapult herself into the world of theatre.
I mean, heck, *I'd* take the role! :)
Interesting. Kate Fisher also played Cosette on the LM tour a couple years before Sutton joined.
