Jobs in London theatre?

Posted: 8/23/08 at 8:01am

Hey guys,

does someboday know some websites with job offers in London theatre. Or how does it works it there.
Actually I am from Germany.
Thanks in advance.

The Lyric Theatre on Shaftesbury Ave currently has a notice in its doors for recruitment of front of house and bar staff. Maybe you could call Nimax Theatres and see how they can help you? They have a number of West End Houses, The Lyric, The Apollo The Vaudeville, The Garrick and The Duchess. Within the next 3 weeks all of these theatres will be open with shows.

A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

Get thee to thestage.co.uk. They advertise there. Individual places, like the National, advertise directly through their websites, and I always check out the job section of the Guardian website as well, but either they don't show many techie opportunities, or I'm just really good at blocking them out as not relevant to my abilities...

Hey Weez,

What bout being a part-time usher? I'm studying but could use the spare cash.

In Soviet Russia, Wicked hates you too!

To usher just drop your CV at the theatre. It doesn't pay great but pretty flexible about setting days/hours and it's possible to just do weekends or 2-3 nights/week. A lot of my friends are doing it between auditions.
