Did anyone go and see JCM this weekend at Cooper Union?
I had to miss it and was heartbroken - am hoping one of you might have some input on the details of his Laura Bush and also the meet and greet.

YES Plum! He was to read as our dear President's wife Laura.
Good God I really wish I had seen it. I guess that you didn't get go. Someone had to...that is one good thing about this board!

I was there for both.
That man....ahhh, I could go on for days about how incredible he is. He just shifts into character so seamlessly. The slightest twitch makes you really believe he's Laura Bush. It was a little hard to separate him from the character at first since they weren't in costume, but you get over that after a few minutes. His comic timing is perfect, and he makes it all look so easy.
The afterparty was fun...no official meet and greet, just an open bar that kept getting extended, and JCM showed up around 11 to start spinning. He was lovely.

Thank you for letting me know. I had hoped so much to go. He's just so unbelievably talented that it is hard to believe.
Did you speak with him? I was wondering what he is like - aloof or not.
If for some reason he ever does something like this again, please post about it.

I met him at a signing 3 years ago, and he's so sweet, despite probably hearing the same compliments a million times. I was in his presence Sunday, but I didn't really say much to him as I was um, a little too inebriated by that point. He was totally cool about taking pix with us. He wasn't aloof at all though, he couldn't have been more laid back and nice. But there's only so much you can say in a loud bar.
