I know he did Big River but did he ever do anything else? He's really great singer and actor, I think he should be in more on b'way.

I saw him play Mr. Antrobus in THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH in the Park in the late 90s, a small role in the Meryl Streep/Kevin Kline/Philip Seymour Hoffman/Mike Nichols production of THE SEAGULL (in the Park) a few years ago and another role in the Tony Randall/Al Pacino ARTURO UI (at the Schimmel Center).

Margo, who did he play in The Seagull? That was the production with Marcia Gay Harden and Natalie Portman too right?

I would love to see Goodman take on Edna in Hairspray.

So would I!

Margo, how was he in those?

He did the tiny role of Shamrayev (which is little more than a walk on) in THE SEAGULL. Harden was solid as Masha, but poor little Natalie Portman was out of her league as Nina.

I hear Hoffman was spectacular, even though he was not the typical type for that role. And I can only imagine how amazing Kline and Streep were. That is one production I would kill to have seen.

He was at the Geffen here in LA in a production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof as Big Daddy. It was great. That theatre puts on a lot of productions that are Broadway quality....and quite a few that aren't...but still. He's a great actor.

He is my only choice to play Horace opposite my Dolly in the upcoming revival of HELLO, DOLLY!

And you're gonna sing it just like Roseanne, ain't ya, Dolly?

He's terrific, but given the millions he made doing "Roseanne" for all those years, I have a feeling that he'll only commit to doing 8 shows a week on stage if it's something that REALLY interests him artistically.

By the way, he also looked like he was having fun at St. Ann's Warehouse a couple of years ago in a Coen Brothers' "sound play" alongside Steve Buscemi, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Marcia Gay Harden in one half of a double bill called "Theatre of the New Ear" (the second play was a bizarre and brilliant piece by screenwriter Charlie Kaufman starred Meryl Streep, Hope Davis and Peter Dinklage).

Well, I just hope he comes back soon because he is one of the best.
