Ok as most of you can tell from my Jordan Ballard post, I saw hairspray yesturday. I have seen the show many times and of course saw John as Fender many times. This time he look SO BORED! He had no engery and looked like he didnt want to be there. It was sad. It was like he chose to go back into the show for money and he just looked dumb half the time. He made dumb gestures in the back of some scenes with the attitude of "Oh geese why am I here, I so done with this show, please oh please God bring BARE back....I hope no one sees me here. Damit I am suppose to be a big star by now and all i am doing is dancig in the back of stars" And he put no effort into dancing and stuff...anyway I think it must be hard to go from a lead role into a chrous role. Oh well... Updated On: 1/1/05 at 07:58 PM

Well, poor grammar doesn't lend much weight to your opinions.
It's also possible he was ill, had a bad day, any number of things to explain what you saw as a lackluster performance.

Yeah but when people pay big bucks to see a show, a "bad day" shouldn't show through an actor's performance!

Is John Hill still in it? That would make me happy, b/c he is cute and talented and I love him.

wow, you did an awful lot of reading into some 'gestures' you saw him do in the background. cant possibly imagine what gestures could mean all that, he must have some impressive mime skills, or was it sign language?

why werent you watching the action in the foreground? :)

Yeah, when I read that John Hill was going back to HAIRSPRAY, I felt bad. I mean, if he went back because he really WANTED to, then that's great! But it's not often that someone who starred as a lead in a show and started to actually make a name for him/herself will go back to an ensemble role. No big deal though! He's making his money... go ahead, John. Do what you've got to do! :)
