Nothing like a perfect little teaser to generate some hype for your upcoming Broadway show.

Strangely though, I don't think I really care.

Who was the lady???

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

That last "zinger" from the play is the best line of the article! Can't wait to see the show this Sunday night.

Which most beautiful woman? Who cares?

Jessica Lange makes sense, but I couldn't imagine her topping Most Beautiful lists around that time, but I could be completely off.

He made a movie in 1976 with Genevieve Bujold. Beautiful? You tell me.

Have you ever seen I ♥ Huckabees?

Genevieve Bujold is beautiful, oh yes! I certainly would have gone for her, but I don't think she's the one. Curious though, who is?

Well, Joe,

Genevieve Bujold seems right...great guess... we'll see!

She was world-famous for her beauty in a way some of the other suspects were not and she did have reputation for being eccentric- which seems to fit his description.

Have you ever seen I ? Huckabees?

Only the first 30 minutes. Then the DVD got stuck and I just never got back around to it.

In one of the scenes Jason Schwartman's character is looking at vintage bathing suit shots of Jessica Lange. When Dustin Hoffman mentions it, he reacts by yelling "Is it a crime? Is it a crime to look at Lange?!"

It always makes me laugh, but no one ever knows what I'm talking about when I say it.

Joe K: I think you're the winner.

Lithgow is one of my all time favorites and like any other actor, I really don't care what they do in their personal lives. It's the performance that counts to me.

This is old, old, old news. If the (terrible) author of the original article had done her research and read DEPALMA ON DEPALMA, particularly the chapter on the filming of OBSESSION, she would know it was Bujold. Zzzzz.

I don't think this article was terrible per se, nor would I expect a journalist to have necessarily read DePalma on DePalma for a John Lithgow interview unless you weren't up on Lithgow's DePalma films.

One of the points Lithgow makes in the article is that his affair was known and was publicized by Liz Smith, yet it got no media attention. Whereas today something like that would have been treated quite differently.
