Is there any truth to the rumor that John was working as an usher on Broadway when he was cast in Jersey Boys?

He was an usher at the Hilton Theatre at one time. Not sure that that was what he was doing at the exact moment he was cast in Jersey Boys. He had done other things like Drawer Boy out at Papermill Playhouse.

Ushering is a survival job for many aspiring actors in NY.

I believe JLY was an usher at the Hilton around the time the 42nd STREET revival was there.
