John Simon went to DREAMGIRLS in PHILADEPHIA???

Just read John Simon's review of DREAMGIRLS in Philly. Who knew he went outside of NYC???? I have tickets in February and I can't wait!!!! I cant believe this show hasnt already BEEN to Vegas, baby. It seems a more natural fit then Avenue Q. Link is below.

Vegas prefers that shows be no longer than 90 minutes, so I'm not sure how they will be able to cut Dreamgirls -- which is about an hour longer than that -- and still have it make any sense.

Well, Margo, having seen it also, I think this particular show could be scaled down to 90 min. without losing all the right componets. In fact, I personally think it would be a good match for AC. It's a good "lounge" type show...fast paced, razzle dazzle for the casino crowd.

But in no way is it Broadway ready. Hey, at $100 a pop, Broadway patrons expect a full blown, every lyric, every song, every costume, every movement and big names to boot.

But I am as happy as a pup with 2 tails for my friends at the Prince. They are all so excited about all this well deserved attention!
