You needed to start a new thread? They are discussing this just a few posts below...

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

i don't know how he compares because i haven't seen him in Avenue Q, but i am a fan (hence the avatar picture) and i did see him in Godspell off-broadway and he was simply amazing! i LOVE his voice. i'm sure he'll do wonderful in Q. he's got BIG potential to be the next big broadway star.

hmmm...I don't think this should be a comparison kinda thing. John and Barrett are both amazing performers. Each of them has their own spoof of creativity in different parts of the musical. Johnny is better in some ways that Barrett isn't and vice versa. I've seen Avenue Q four times and it turned out that I saw it twice with Barrett and twice with Johnny. I am still a bit more partial to Johnny for different reasons other than the Broadway stage but Barrett is such a sweetie pie who is sooo cute and friendly. Both of them are absolutely terrific in every way. It's just the subtle differences in their way of performing Princeton and Rod which makes it unique and special.

People like you are the reason I'm on medication.

Barrett is much more Broadway than John is. He has more of a Broadway style and acts the part differently. But his singing and acting are on par and are superior than John in some ways but John was also superior than Barrett in other ways. He is an excellent performer and I have been a devoted fan of his for many years. I have seen him in many different productions, including Avenue Q, and he has done a PHENOMENAL job!!

Both are wonderful.
There is no comparing the two because they both bring something of their own to each puppet.
