Jonothan Crombie in Drowsy

OK, I searched this and didn't find anything (but I'm really bad at searching and, at the moment, very excited!). It just connected in my mind that the man taking over for the man in the chair is Jonothan Crombie and that he is the same man who played Gilbert in the Anne of Green Gables movies. I was so in love with him!
Now, even though I have seen The Drowsy Chaperone 3 times, I am feeling compelled to see it again. I hope he's good! I saw that he's starting tonight. Please, someone tell me how he is! (Wow, I'm starting to sound like an annoying, deranged fan- sorry about that. It's just that he was my first crush.) Thanks!!!

It's the lead. He's onstage virtually the whole show, and he's there till April 15th.

haha i know a lot of people who felt like this - casting jonathan crombie is definitely persuading some of my friends, who never wanted to see drowsy, to pay money to go see it.

Huge Drowsy fan, huge Bob Martin fan and couldn't imagine seeing it without Bob as The Man in the Chair...

until I heard this casting announcement!

I think girls fall into two categories...those who grew up with Gilbert Blythe as their romantic ideal and those who have no idea who he is!

I am really intrigued to see Jonathan.

Are Drowsy tickets easy to get at TKTS? I must be in the same room as Gilbert Blythe.

The point of my original, long winded message, WickedGeek, was how is he? Sorry if it wasn't clear.

He's only there till April 15th, so you may see John Glover instead - depending on what you mean by "a few weeks".

So, has anyone seen him yet? I saw Bob Martin 3 times and can't really imagine a different Man in Chair.

Saw Jonothan and he is wonderful in the role. Loved Bob Martin as Man in Chair too, but Jonothan is a nice addition to the cast. As well as very nice at the stage door. Audience seemed to really enjoy him in the role.

I've now seen 3 Man in Chairs: Bob Martin, Patrick Wetzel, and Jonathon. I have REALLY enjoyed all three of them in the role. After seeing Bob, I couldn't picture anyone else in the role, but the other two have done a great job. I'm curious to see how the new Man in Chair will be, but as of now, I'm disappointed Jonathon Crombie isn't playing the role permanently. He puts a lot into the character... a lot of small movements, looks, and reactions that are entertaining. See him when you have the chance!

I was excited to see him this past Sunday. I was slightly disappointed, but I don't think that anyone would be able to fill Bob's shoes. Jonathan does a nice job, but I just don't seem him completely as Man in Chair.

JoAnn Worley exited the stage door on Sunday as well. Guess she was on hand for Georgia's last performance.
