I can't seem to find any information regarding the Broadway/London production of Hamlet with Jude Law. I wanted to know if anything was cut, was it performed in it's entirety? Also, what scene ended act one? since they took all five acts and put it into a two act show. Any answers or help would be great. Thanks!

Ooh, I actually have that written down somewhere! Back in a sec... (Yes, I like to mark in my playtexts where the various directors put the intervals. I'm That Person. :P)

There we are; assuming nothing was changed between London and Broadway, the interval fell between 3.1 and 3.2.

I'm confident the text was not performed in its entirety, 'cos Hamlet is BLOODY long when it is (see 1996 movie, aka Kenneth Branagh Shouting on a Snowy Clifftop for Four Hours), but there weren't any hugely noticeable cuts (and it was a bit of a while back) so I'm afraid I can't be specific.

Possibly it would have been uncut if Branagh had directed, as initially planned, but Michael Grandage took over, and he's very sweet about neatly trimming texts so they lose none of their meaning but maintain plenty of momentum. :)

Intermission between 3.1 and 3.2 is fairly typical. I didn't see the production, but that makes sense.

I just directed a production in the East Village last November and that's where our intermission was.
