I adore her. She'd be a fabulous Mrs Danvers, but it might be a bit high for her.

Why don't you go? Why don't you leave Manderley? He doesn't need you... he's got his memories. He doesn't love you, he wants to be alone again with her. You've nothing to stay for. You've nothing to live for really, have you?

The only reason I asked whether she would pursue is because she kept a lower profile through the end of the '90s and early '00s. I would hope that more roles would be offered to her in the future. Would love to see her team up with someone like Kelli O'Hara... Imagine!!

Can't quite believe I'm touting a CATS suggestion, but the mention of her playing Grizabella raises that issue once again.  Imagine having a brilliant singing actress at the top of her game -- age 58 -- playing this older, dying character, instead of a pop star-ette?  A 60ish actor in the role?  Startling. Yet the show might make a leap.

But I saw her in RAGS, and remember still her performance of the title song. She is emotionally connected, fully, always, to every lyric.  And the voice is a beautiful instrument.  I hope her best work is still ahead of her.

Count me among those who are huge Judy Kuhn fans. I was born in 1992 and therefore am a life-long devotee of the Disney Renaissance; her performance as Pocahontas was one of my favorites (and "Just Around the Riverbend" is one of my favorite Disney songs, and go-to shower song). So imagine my thrill when I became a teenager obsessed with musicals and discovered that the voice of Pocahontas starred in Les Misérables, Chess (one of my favorite musicals) and Sunset Boulevard, and was also featured in Rags and the 1998 recording of As Thousands Cheer (another favorite of mine). I was then saddened to learn she was mostly off stage being a mother (with sporadic returns, mostly off-Broadway). I'm so glad she's returned the last few years in things like Passion and of course Fun Home (I was pulling for her to finally win that Tony). I hope she has a fantastic run in the show and returns in something fantastic soon!

Has she played Margaret in Piazza yet? I think she'd be stunning in the role.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.
