I do have the London cast recording and I really like it. The tunestack has changed since the original production, but it is still lots of fun to listen to. It does include small bits of dialogue as it is a live recording of the songs. There is also an Australian recording out there that is closer to the Off-Broadway production and I think I used to have it, but I can't find it now. Footlight has an 11-track German recording entitled The Sound of Shakespeare and Rock 'n' Roll, and a London Orchestra studio recording, but I have not heard either one.

The production I saw was retitled "The Return of Return to the Forbidden Planet" and billed as the "digitally remastered" production which, from I can tell from photos of the original production, included a more extensive set design and better costumes and special effects. It remains my favorite production of any musical I have seen in London. I have the poster and the t-shirt and a souvenir program from the original London production.

I've included a link for the official website of the show.

I thought Idols of the King had a fantastic book - seen several very different productions of it. It could work Off-bwy. For a jukebox musical, the format of this one makes more sense than any other I've seen.

I'd fire you... if you weren't so g*dd*mn beautiful out there. - Blades of Glory blog
