Why oh why is it on Tuesday and non the less in the middle of the day! Is anyone going to this? The idea of meeting Ms. Andrews is beyond fantastic and I am leaning towards skipping classes that day.

Well, I have her autograph on one children's book, and to be honest, I don't even know where that book is right now.
No one showed up to the event - there were literally 10 people there - and her "people" were so controlling and pushy that it just really turned me off. Julie was charming and wonderful, but if you stopped to thank her and say a few words to her, (despite the fact that NO one was behind you on line) they would say "Okay, move on, we have to get through all the people." But no one else was there.
And I just felt that, overall, Julie didn't care about her fans at all, which I found kind of upsetting. She basically ignored everyone, and just gave everyone the same blank smile, barely looking at anyone, acting as if she would rather be doing anything else in the WORLD than signing the book for me.
To be honest, I didn't want her damn signature, I just wanted to meet her. I still respect her, but I wouldn't put myself in the position to be so disappointed again. I was very let down by the way she handled the whole thing.

Yes, I'm torn. Meeting Julie Andrews is a wonderful thing. She was nice and polite.
I just don't know if I felt that she wwas 100% sincere and really cared that any of us showed up. Maybe she was just pissed that 10 people were there...I don't know.

Damn. I was afraid that I was going to get that reply. Thats what I am most hesitant about if I were to meet her. Also, like you I don't even care about her signature, just the chance to meet her, maybe get a picture (!!!!) and thank her. As of now, I am leaning towards not going (not due to what you said but school committements and classes).

Does not sound like you can just waltz up and meet her. You have to have a kids night ticket to a show that day.
"Starting at 2:30 p.m., tickets will be handed out to the first 150 Kids’ Night participants standing in line who are interested in purchasing a book. The first 150 people to purchase a book will get to meet Ms. Andrews and Ms. Hamilton, and have their book signed. Doors open at Madame Tussauds at exactly 3 p.m. with the book signing starting at 4:00 p.m. Books will be available for purchase at the Madame Tussaud’s gift store located on the 5th floor."

"there were literally 10 people there"
How is that literal?
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra
Salve, Salve Regina
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
O clemens O pia
