I adore Julie Andrews and would love to see her again. I saw her live twice. Once, at the taping of JULIE AND CAROL AT LINCOLN CENTER and then many years later I saw her in concert. She was awesome!
Anyone who saw Victor/Victoria knows that she was losing her voice and range before her surgery. The cast album is just horrific to listen to. She talk/sings throughout. I cringe listening to it and really haven't since the first time I listened to it.

The cyst re-inflamed during the Chicago pre-Broadway run of VICTOR/VICTORIA and she, unwisely, continued on for two years on Broadway. I suppose if you have millions of your own money in a show, you forge ahead. Her diminished vocal abilities in V/V did not affect her, glorious, stage presence, one bit!
I didn't say it did - all I am saying is that her voice was pretty bad pre-surgery.

It was in bad shape, but I prefer her stage version of "Crazy World" to the film version of the same song, when her voice was in great shape.
It WAS thrilling to see and hear her sing at the My Favorite Broadway concert with Michael Crawford.

of course!
I totally would, in a heartbeat. Hell, I'd pay to just see her stand there.
The Victor/Victoria tour was supposed to start in Seattle with her. I bought tickets the moment they went on sale. Then, of course, the whole fiasco happened. The show went on with someone else. Didn't see it-got my money back. I heard the show wasn't THAT great, I really just wanted to see Julie.
