hey everyone. for the people that saw Rent, what did you think of Jump Over the Moon? I heard it was really funny but I never got to see it. Just let me know what you thought. thanks

Posted: 12/4/04 at 11:49amI think it depends on the actress, and how she interacts with the audience. I've seen ones that were kind of bland, and seemed too rehearsed for what it is, and I've seen ones where the audience is engaged and excited, and laughing at lot; those work... and when it's like that, even though most people probably know about the mooing, a lot of the audience will moo anyway. It can be really entertaining, but you have to have someone doing it who's really willing to go over the top.

It's funny. Not fall out of your chair funny, but it's funny. I think Kelly Karbacz did it the best.
I love that part of Here Idina'sbiggestfan. I still need to get that cd and stop listening to other people's.

When Idina was Maureen she was (as Emcee said) OVER THE TOP. Besides mooning she would occasionally flash the audience, and she was able to keep the crowd in the palm of her hand
BTW-This info is from a friend not me(as I have never seen RENT with anybody in it let alone the OBC)

Posted: 12/4/04 at 1:54pmI saw last years touring cast of RENT, and I had saw Leslie diamond, in the role. Not only was she boring, and couldn;t sing, she had NO personality. It really sucked, she didn't even moon anyone.

I recently heard the music of RENT for the first time...could someone please tell me what the meaning of the long "suicidal Mickey Mouse" line is supposed to mean (if anything??)? Maybe I'm naive...

I believe Maureen is one of those "extreme artsy people" who are completely insane (sot of like being high when you're not high)

This was the very first song I ever heard from Rent. Ended spending an entire weekend at a speech tournament yelling "MOO WITH ME!" with the rest of my team...heehee.
But when I saw it, the actress playing Maureen was extremely over-the-top, and I didn't enjoy it as much...although quite satisfying during "Moo With Me"
