I gotta tell you, this book has the greatest concept ever. It has everything! I wonder if this will be an annual thing with Playbill. Does anyone know?

Is this similar to the yearly Theatre World book installments? I'm not even sure if these books are still put out. Anyone?

Not at all!!! It's more decorated like a high school yearbook and includes almost EVERYONE who worked in the theater last season.

It is also available on Amazon for $19 ! Should I order it ? Is it interesting and worth it or is it just small picture after small picture ? Let me know please, so I can order it now and combine it with my order for the RENT soundtrack which probably ships tomorrow !!!

I think it really captures and chronicles the behind the scenes insider stuff about each show's cast and crew. Every production had a designated correspondent who reported on rituals, most embarrassing moments, highlights of opening night, nicknames ,most popular junk food. The pictures are not just publicity shots but candid moments as well that capture the comraderie and more private moments that shed light on the close friendships that develop off stage.
In answer to your question--I think if you love theater this yearbook is absolutely worth it.
