I won last night's lottery after trying and failing the previous two days. There were maybe 30 people standing in front of the theater, but some people were clearly stationed across the street at Avenue Q waiting to see if they'd be called (one ran across the street to the Imperial when they drew his name). This wasn't a huge problem, as there weren't that many of us, but I imagine that if this show turns out to be a hit they'll have to re-work the lottery system (currently they don't even check your ID or go through the slips to make sure you've only entered once). On a reprehensibly shallow note, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels certainly has the most attractive lottery-runner in town!

How was John? I don't know anything about the play, only what I have red in the net. The story is similar to the film version? Do you know any information about the cd recording?
Thanks,

Umm, this posting has some spoiler-type things in it, so if you don't want to know a few plot details, stop reading now!
It was pretty darn similar to the story of the film, although its been years since I saw the film, so its possible small things were different. I don't recall the Joanna Gleason/Gregory Jbarra characters from the film, so they might have been added as a musical comedy type convention.
Haven't heard about a cast recording. I'm assuming they will record it, but perhaps don't have a label yet.
And as for John Lithgow, he was good, but the guy has no sex appeal whatsoever, and I thought that undermined his second act journey (where his affection for Sherie Rene Scott starts overwheliming his con artist instincts). I'm not saying their relationship should be overtly sexual, but its hard to believe that John Lithgow has the ability to experience sexual or romantic feelings AT ALL.
i assume that it will be recorded by someone, after all doesn't sherie renee scott still own th sh-k-boom label?

Thanks.
I'm assuming the DRS cast recording will either be done with Sh-K-Boom (since Sherie co-owns that label) or RCAVictor.. which is the label The Full Monty was recorded with.

I saw DRS last night - Loved Leo in it! He was great in Wicked, but in this show he had much more to work with and did the part such justice. This isn't my favorite show by any means, but I had a lot of fun going and I will definitely see it again (if only to see Leo)!
I plan on hitting the lotto for this on 2/11.
One thing I'd try is to hit it on a Monday. Some people may not realize it has Monday shows.
TWO HOURS TEN MINUTES UNTIL I SEE DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS OMG OMG OMG SORRY I USUALLY USE PUNCTUATION BUT I'M JUST SO EXCITED I COULD PEE MYSELF
ITF, you're going to come back here and give us a full review when you get back, riiiiight?
Just don't pee all over your keyboard I have tickets for July 10th. I enjoyed John Lithgow in Sweet Smell of Success and I am sure he will be a great con man in this role. I also saw the movie. I saw Butz in Wicked and was not impressed either way.

Hopefully DRS will, maybe, change your opinion of Norbert. Fiyero was so under-written.. it's hard to base an opinion on a role like that (IMO).
Just got back from the show tonight (thurs 2-4), very fun and enjoyable! I love lotteries! I'll definitely go back again!
Liotte: Did you win the lotto tonight? Then I must have seen you there...
Yes, won the lottery, was sitting in the front row seats 111 and 112. Where were you?
I didn't win, I was outside with a friend trying to win tickets for her, but I didn't win. I was sitting on the standpipe with a blue coat and a hat on towards the left of the theatre. And you?
I was wearing jeans and a black coat, had on a greenish sweater with a white button down underneath, long dark hair. I was standing a little to the left of the table (facing it) when they called out the names.
I don't recall....but we were on the same side of the table. You must have literally brushed past me to get inside. Were you with a guy or a girl?
wow i really cant wait to see this show.. thanks for letting us know u liked it!!
Saw it again tonight. Love it, and the audience seems to feel the same way ! Only positive comments leaving the theater... (which was packed !!)
I was with a guy, he was wearing a black coat and multicolored scarf, he is 19, I am female/26. It's ok, I don't usually remember random people from the lottery unless I talk to them.
Testing, where were you sitting?
We were in Rear Mezz Row F.(sect 2) .. and the freakiest thing happened to us tonight.... A blind couple came into the theater with their daughter, and the cutest seeing-eye dog. Wife was remarking how cute the dog was. So, we stop paying attention, and all of a sudden I lean back in my chair, and hit a dog snout !! Would have been cool, except that I am deathly allergic to dogs !!! So, my luck the dog hairs got on my coat, and during the first act, I start weezing and my throat starts closing up. Needless to say, we had to move at intermission. Luckily, I had allergy pills in my bag !!!
