On that blissful afternoon a few years ago when I bumped into TAMrMcC as he was walking his dogs between MUSIC MAN performances, we wound up having coffee together at a sidewalk cafe. During our conversation, he mentioned that his experience in a sitcom was an enormous help in getting "up" in a major musical comedy in almost record time. His words became even more truthful when I learned that his replacement in THE MUSIC MAN, Robert Sean Leonard, was having a very difficult time learning the lyrics and the choreography and Eric generously gave of his own time helping the actor learn the role. Those who saw Leonard in the eearly weeks of his performance will verify that he was still uncertain of the lyrics, awkward in the dance movements and afraid to smile. I understand he improved later on.
Sitcoms may have their place as a training ground for Broadway actors.
Lets not dilute ourselves. 99% of the actors on a broadway show right now would give their right testicle or whatever they have tooffer to be in a hit sitcom.
huh-- who is Karen Ziemba?
My God, what's next??? Brian Stokes Mitchell on Frasier??!!? Cute post, Anthony!

It is True! I have had enough of this stunt casting when it comes to my beloved television..
What's next:
Sutton Foster On "Six Feet Under"
I can't bear it!
Idina would be perfect for The Sopranos.

How DARE you Mister Matt!
HBO shows are SACRED ground....
We need an TELEVISON PERSONALITY with TV TRAINING! to be on HBO!!
Broadway stars think they can just waltz on the set and 5 months later, win an Emmy...
I tell ya!
AHA !! Gotcha!! You just said, "Broadway stars" without the use of sarcastic quotation marks around the word "star", thereby admitting they exist. I shall record this day to throw in your face at a later date.
VICTORY IS MINE!
Sometimes these message boards make me sick...Everyone should get the chance to try at whatever. If she did well enough to get cast, give her a shot. At least see what she has. I prayed that I wouldn't have to see Eden Espinosa instead of Idina Menzel in WICKED on Wed, but had Idina been out, I wouldn't have asked for a refund until I gave Eden a chance. And, that's after having heard her sing "Defying Gravity" on Seth's. Ouch, that's a painful recording. Take a lesson from AVENUE Q: "Everything in life is only for now." If you don't like it, don't watch it. It's that simple.
geez, musicpos, you need to lighten up. or do a little board history. sarcasm, look it up.

Wow, you popped out of the woodwork MusicPos..... I don't think I've ever really seen you post before. Could it be that all your posts are as annoying as the last two I've read and I just blocked you out?
