Great idea! I love Kate Winslet! And Liv Ullman is an awesome, sensitive director...check out "Faithless" for proof. My question is, when is Kate going to do a show in NY?
Oh no, not another one of those 'multi-Oscar nominated actresses' taking parts that could be going to marginally talented unknowns who 'live for theater.'
I wouldn't see this show for free otherwise. I'd pay top dollar to see Winslet onstage.
Sorry guys, she lost most of my respect at "Put your hands on me Jack...." Sorry to say it but cheesy!!!! But I will give her the benifit of the doubt, she may (and I stress that, MAY) be alright here...but only time will tell.
Yes, because she wrote the screenplay to 'Titanic.'
A Doll's House is one of my favorite plays and the revival with McTeer and Teale was riveting. One of the best shows I've ever witnessed on stage. Their performances were amazing. Neither of the actors had ever been nominated for an Oscar at the time, but both won Tonys and McTeer also won the Olivier, so being cast in the film version is comletely out of the question. Sorry Johnpopa, but Winslet will not be appearing onstage. It's just the film version. She was briefly considered for the lead in Cam Mac's Mary Poppins. For some reason, he chose an actress who could sing. Still not sure why....
Actually Kate can sing...she sang an aria in "Heavenly Creatures" and was in the running to do the film of Phantom....Missing out on Mary Poppins? Talk about a blessing in disguise. There goes my career...spit-spot!
When oh when will Owen Teale come back to NY? He made my little Borstalknees go weak! He's the hottest Norwegian patriarchal tyrant ever!
My bad, someone was talking to me about the job I do when I was trying to read the article.
I hate when people do that to me, here in the office.
I adored "A Doll's House" when I read it in college. I hope they do a great job with it!
