Kathy went on as tracy for todays matinee and was INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!! my god she made her bway debut today and won the hearts of every single audience member. congrats to her and her wonderful talent... she is mjw's clone and more! very very funny girl.

I also saw Kathy as Tracy yesterday and I must say she was excellent. (Although, Link's understudy had my ears bleeding at time...) But as for Miss Brier, she was pure talent - anything you could want with Tracy.

I'm so jealous - I would LOVE to see as Tracy! Perhaps she is being groomed to take over when Marissa's contract is up.

I would absolutely pay to see Kathy again as Tracy. But John Hill as Link...well, I'd rather save my money on that one.

Not sure, but a one year contract would expire the week of August 15. It would expire August 17 to be exact. She could stay a few weeks past though -- ala Gavin Creel in TMM.

So pretty much...if Aug 17th is her last day lottery tickets for Hairspray the weekend I'll be there will be nearly impossible to get right? Now if its not her last weekend how many people could be expected for lottery time? I'm coming with 6 others so we need a lot of tickets but at least we'll have a lot of names in the hat. And can I assume that Hairspray will not be up on the board at TKTS? I'm trying to plan ahead for my trip so any advanced help would be great. My wife and I are already buying $100 seats to TLK so we don't want to fork out another $200 for another show. Help...please!

Lottery tickets for six would be VERY hard. Um, if you don't mind sitting aoart from some of your group, you might be able to find good seats scattered around the house. Also, Hairspray has a good number of house seats that are relaesed a day or two before the performance. If you call the box office you might get lucky that way. I know of some people that have scored seats in the front part of center orchestra the day of.

According to Variety, Harvey said that he and Marissa have no plans to leave the show anytime soon.

marissa's leaving and then coming back later on...i dont think harvey is leaving just yet thank god... but maybe you and your wife should think about forking out the money for Hairspray instead of LION KING... lion king will always be there and it dont matter whos in the show...Hairspray has the best cast now so buyyyy seats!!!!!!!!!

last word i heard from Marissa's mouth was that she is leaving in August and will begin work on her series and plans to return sometime at the end of spring-beginning of summer 2004.
