Posted: 5/31/13 at 6:51pmI recently watched "The Late Shift" where Kathy Bates played Jay Leno's agent Helen Kushnick. She seems like a more interesting subject for a play than Sue Mengers. Should Kathy give Bette a run for her money in a one woman show?
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

They're entirely different animules!
Kathy Bates is an actress, whereas Bette Midler is chiefly a star performer.
Kathy can disappear into any role she plays and make you forget the actress. For Bette, no matter the role, what you always get is Bette. There's room for both on Broadway, I suppose, but they're aiming at two completely different targets.
