I saw it on her first night. (Friday, December 9th)
I've seen this show before with both Kelli O'Hara and then Jennifer Hughes.
Personally, I don't think that Katie has had enough time to gain the proper experience, vocal and acting technique to do this role. All of the operatic interludes were belted, and I felt that her style of singing was different than what I had expected. Also, her interpretation wasn't really what I had looked for--it certainly was different than Kelli's.
It really isn't Katie Clarke's fault though. It's the directors' fault. They should have chosen someone that could follow up a performance by Kelli O'Hara.
P.S. I'm sorry about the ridiculously thorough review I gave before. It really was too harsh.

You got turned down for the part of Clara, didn't you? Or at least know someone who did. That is a pretty harsh review for someone who just joined the site today.
And for the record, its "cast" not "casted".

Posted: 12/17/05 at 2:02amKatie's voice is different than Kelli's. She has more of a contemporary belt/mix sound but the notes are all VERY much there and gorgeous to boot.
