I think Katie is wonderful in the role. She has a beautiful voice and is such a talent. I can't believe she is so young! And I don't agree at all with the comments about Kelli! Kelli made me fall in love with this show and I think her portrayal of Clara is wonderful. I don't know what you saw.

PS. Umm, the only person I would like to see take over for Megan in Wicked is her standby...Katie Adams! She's the best person for the job!

What is your dream role? My dream role would be to be myself. To be performing at the Hollywood Bowl and to have an audience there just to see me, as Stephanie. They are there because they like what I do as a singer, an artist and a person (the last being the most important). I enjoy escaping and portraying other characters, but to be accepted and wanted as yourself... that's amazing! --Stephanie J. Block Just one of the many reasons I admire and respect Stephanie!!

I thought Kelli was phenomenal in the role. I'm just saying that there is one aspect of the character that may not have been fully explored, and from what I've heard it's Katie's real strength, so I'd love to see her take on it for that contrast if nothing else.

Here's an article from the Houston Chronicle (Clarke is from here) about her auditions and taking over the role. I thought some of you might be interested in it. Free registration at the site might be required.

I honestly don't think that Kelli would take a replacement role at this point in her career, unless it was something she really felt strongly about. I think she will go on to originate many more roles!

I saw Katie in the role and really liked her. It must be tough to replace someone in a show as critically lauded as "Piazza."
