Kelli and Matthew at Staller Center

Ferrari: I observe that you are in one respect a very fortunate man, Monsieur. I am moved to make one more suggestion, why, I do not know, because it cannot possibly profit me.

This is a Public Service Announcement for Kelliphiles and Matthew Admirers:

The 2019-2020 season Staller Center Gala will feature Kelli O'Hara and Matthew Morrison in concert on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 8:00 p.m.

Why you should know this now. The Staller Center is the performing arts building on the campus of the State University of Stony Brook on the north shore of Suffolk County adjacent to Port Jefferson Village. Its main stage is not much to look at but makes for an intriguing venue. Total capacity is only 1000-1200, in about 30 banked rows of nearly 40 seats. There is sufficient leg room to allow one to get up and depart the row without inconvenience to any others in the row. Tickets are all priced the same at $90 each, but what I think makes it incumbent on interested parties to get their orders in right away is this presale policy.

Here is the presale notice, which is like nothing I've ever seen before:

The Presale: Orders are processed in the order of receipt through June 3, 2019. Order for 9+ are processed first, then 5-8 and lastly 1-4. 

Friends of Staller who have made a gift in the last year of $250 or more will be seated first in each of these respective categories.  After the presale, all orders are filled upon receipt.

What I get from this is that you should get your ticket requests in right away. Given the rules of the presale along with the possibility that faculty, students and employees have already had first shot, I don't think that there will be many good sets left at the end of the presale.

According to Google Maps, it is 44 miles from the Queens campus of St. John's University to the Staller Center and travel time by auto is only 54 minutes.
