Be aware that Saturday night shows ad family priced shows at the Kennedy Center do not offer the STP discount.
The Kennedy Center and other participating presenters offer a limited number of tickets at 50% off the full Box Office price. These Specially Priced Tickets (SPTs) are offered and sold on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability, to eligible patrons.
Who is eligible to purchase SPTs?
- Persons with permanent disabilities
- Full-time students (grade school through graduate school)*
- Seniors ages 65 and over.
- Enlisted military personnel (grades E1-E4)
- Persons with fixed low incomes.
When offered, SPTs are available for purchase on the first date the tickets for that attraction go on sale.

How to purchase SPTs
Eligible students, seniors, military personnel, and persons on fixed low incomes must come in person to the Kennedy Center Box Office to purchase SPTs. Each eligible person may purchase one SPT ticket per performance, subject to availability.
How to show proof of eligibility
When purchasing tickets at the Box Office, each person must present valid proof of eligibility for SPTs:
- Elementary, junior, and senior high school students must appear in person but need not present identification.
- College, university, and graduate students must present a valid student I.D. or current registration card.
- Senior citizens (age 65 and over) must present a valid government-issued document indicating age.
- Military personnel (E1–E4) must present their military I.D.
- Persons with fixed low incomes can present a Human Resources Card, Peace Corps I.D., food stamps, or proof of a fixed income of less than $9,800 a year.
