This is somewhat off-topic -- was wondering if anyone knows any discount options for shows at the Kennedy Center. My visit to DC coincides with a day they're doing the Gabriels Marathon. I have a student ID. Couldn't find anything on their MyTix page -- is there something equivalent to TKTS in DC? Or rush policy? I checked Goldstar, but the $15+ fee made the discount very negligible. Thank you!

From the Kennedy Center Website - hope this helps. Several DC theatres have this or comparable programs. We were able to see Come From Away at Ford's Theatre for a ridiculously low price.
Be aware that Saturday night shows ad family priced shows at the Kennedy Center do not offer the STP discount.
The Kennedy Center and other participating presenters offer a limited number of tickets at 50% off the full Box Office price. These Specially Priced Tickets (SPTs) are offered and sold on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability, to eligible patrons.
Who is eligible to purchase SPTs?
When offered, SPTs are available for purchase on the first date the tickets for that attraction go on sale.
Information about SPT availability and ticket on-sale dates can be obtained by calling Instant Charge at (202) 467-4600 (voice) or (202) 416-8524 (TTY).
How to purchase SPTs
Eligible students, seniors, military personnel, and persons on fixed low incomes must come in person to the Kennedy Center Box Office to purchase SPTs. Each eligible person may purchase one SPT ticket per performance, subject to availability.
How to show proof of eligibility
When purchasing tickets at the Box Office, each person must present valid proof of eligibility for SPTs:
Yes agree with the post above. I don't believe there is something equivalent to TKTS in DC, but each theatre/show may have discounted tickets. I would suggest contacting KenCen's Box Office directly. They are super helpful and will be able to let you know if discounted tickets are offered for Gabriels.

Thank you for both responses! The box office told me that the SPT/discounted tickets are already gone for the marathon performance this Sunday...there are still so many seats left, so I will check with them again closer to the date...

I think Goldstar may be the best you're going to do at this point.
The closest DC has to TKTS is CultureCapital Ticketplace, which doesn't have the marathon available anymore (they had it a few weeks ago when I bought, but it looks like they sold out), but has Tues/Wed/Thu performances of each show for $25 each this week: http://culturecapital.tix.com/Schedule.aspx?OrgNum=2463&Disp=Act
Good luck!

Thank you! I only found out about CultureCapital a couple weeks ago, and at that point, only last weekend's marathon performances were up there. I will probably wait a bit and see how they're selling, and may try showing up at the box office on Sunday when it opens to see if they sell any discounted tickets.
How big is the theater? I could splurge and be able to pick front row seats (they're not in the center section though -- not sure what the blocking for this show is like...

It's hard to find bargains for the Ken Cen. Goldstar often has their tickets...but the prices aren't really much of a savings. There is a yahoo group called "kc-scotty" which will occasionally offer up tickets at REALLY great prices; generally for performances where they're having trouble filling the seats. It looks like Gabriel piece is being performed in the Theater Lab which has about 400 seats. you should be fine anywhere in that small of a space.

Thank you so much for all the responses! I'm looking forward to my first visit to the Kennedy Center.
