Well the new "honorees" are announced. All Amy Grant fans should rejoice.
Yes, they are giving this to Amy Grant.
As usual, there's no Liza Minnelli.
The only explanation I have for this is that there is some bitter old Judy Garland queen on the board who is incensed that Liza has outlived "Mama" by three decades, and continues to have archived material released.
Don't laugh. Those people exist. I don't get it either.
If they ever do offer Liza this "award," which I doubt they ever will at this point, I hope Liza issues a statement along the lines of:
GO F*CK YOURSELF.
Or, knowing how sweet she is, she'll just say THANKS BUT NO THANKS.
