After a season of them taking some smaller shows on and an in-house production of Ragtime, we get Young Frankenstein and Mary Poppins. What joy.

I guess August: Osage County is good news though as is Thurgood and the McNally opera play series.
looks like I'll finally be able to catch August!!
Eh.
This is a tad underwhelming.
No kidding.
I'm disappointed, but I always HAVE been curious about Mary Poppins, since I've always loved the movie and know next to nothing about the stage musical.
I guess my evil conspiracy theory is wrong-- my theory being, they did Lion King last year, Side Show and Ragtime this year, so logically speaking 1998 Tony-wise, they must do Scarlet Pimpernel next year. Ah well, a girl can dream.

I thought they were planning to do Follies, or I am thinking of something else?
I'm really excited about the Blanchett-led production of A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE. I'll probably make the trip to check it out, and you can't go wrong with a Estelle Parsons-led AUGUST: OC, she is perfection in the part.

Ray: if you're a new yorker, that STREETCAR production is coming to BAM in december.
How does one not get shut out of one of these starry BAM productions. If I'm not mistaken they usually sell out pretty quickly, and I do NOT want to get shut out of this one.

Well the Bridge Project at BAM didn't sell-out? So I don't know. A lot of manhattenites don't like to cross the river.
Lear with Ian McKellen sure sold out.
that's because he took his pants off!
