This is a long time coming for Julie Harris. I heard John Kander say that for years he and a number of others have been pushing for her to get this honor.

That kind of makes me a little sick. Why should ANYONE have to PUSH to get JULIE HARRIS a Kennedy Center Honor???

I know, it was ridiculous. But the Kennedy Center wants big names for their telecast, and Julie Harris, for some odd reason, had not been considered a big enough name outside the theater world to warrant a Kennedy Center Honor.

To me, Miss Harris is one of the biggest Broadway stars ever, with 5 Best Actress Tonys, plus one more because she is just too fabulous.......6 Tonys for this Great Star!!!!!
