I heard the same rumor about an announcement tomorrow. Kennedy Center has refused to confirm it. And the National has given out no info and was claiming as of the time of the Beetljuice announcement that they had not even yet finalized the season. I find that hard to believe, given how tour contracts work, but that’s what they’re claiming.

Anastasia, Hello Dolly, Falsettos, Play that Goes Wrong, Miss Saigon, Dear Evan Hansen, Band's Visit. Not necessarily in that order. They also announced world stages and theatre for young audiences today. No press release yet.

Broadway Center Stage (KenCen's knockoff of Encores!) will be Little Shop of Horrors, Music Man, and Tommy.

And also apparently the tour of Aladdin? They're announcing things out of order, so it's really hard to follow or to know when they're done...

I guess it was too much to hope that KC would get Anastasia, Dear Evan Hansen AND Come From Away. I shouldn't have assumed and just gone with Baltimore this year :'(

There was a lot of negative chatter from locals about Come from Away when it was at Ford's. Unlike NYC, which has a large tourist base, the audience for CFA in DC would consist largely of locals, who are (I think justifiably) not that interested in the 9/11 musical. (And yes, I've seen it.)

Yes, I saw it at Ford's at the audience reaction after was pretty negative. Talked to several people in the lobby and no one thought a musical was the appropriate vehicle for the subject. And a few of my theater friends wouldn't go see it because 9/11 is a touchy subject here (they didn't want a night at the theater about it). I've been pretty shocked that it went over that well. My husband didn't think it's last until opening night.

Come From Away buzz has always been positive, more so concern that it didn't have commercial appeal.

The performance I saw at Ford’s got an incredibly positive response; with audiences on their feet cheering / clapping along with the band on the final number. And my friends who also saw it at Ford’s found it to be incredible. Truly, I don’t ever remember hearing any negative reviews after folks had seen it. Yes, prior to seeing the show many were incredulous that a 9-11 based production would be anything other than sad...but once the word got out how uplifting the show was, tickets were hard to come by in the latter weeks. DC has a thriving theatre base and I expect Come From Away would once again get rave reviews from audiences if it comes back. HOWEVER, my GUESS is it will go to Baltimore this time.
