I know this isn't about Broadway per se...but has anyone hear who will be playing "Maggie". I know that Patrick Wilson (TSMrW) will be playing "Brick" and I'm absolutely dying to know who will be playing the woman he is rejecting for most of the play... LOL Any ideas? By the way, how was Ashley Judd's portrayal of that role?

Dana Ivey is playing big mama

Mark Lamos is directing George Grizzard as Big Daddy amd Emily Skinner as Mae in addition to Ivey and Wilson. When the casting announcement was published in Backstage, all roles were open in the three shows in the series except for Amanda in GLASS MENAGERIE, Blanche in STREETCAR and Big Daay, Brick and Maggie in CAT. So I would assume they are looking for a big name for Maggie.

Do a search to get some reactions to Judd. I have, for once, keep my comments of her performance to myself for fear of sound too catty.
amanda in glass menagerie will be played by the great Sally Field.

Is it true they are talking to Loretta Swit about playing Maggie?

Dollypop, how would anyone even dream of doing this to TSMrW! LOL...I'd like to offer my services to play "Maggie" and insist on a few script changes so they resolve their problems a bit earlier...more fun for me! Of course there'd be the no-shirt clause for dear Patrick. LOL (shame on me!) :o)

Brick does play much of the evening with his chest exposed. He wears pajamas and the top is unbuttoned, so we'll get to see TSMrW's famous 6 pack.
As for Ashely Judd, she was quite dreadful in the role. She is lovely to look at but was one dimensional. Her Maggie was a little girl with very little of the sensuality required for the role. The scenes between Maggie and Brick were downright lifeless. This is sad, because I really love this play.

OOOOH Dollypop, you're right. I'd forgotten about Brick's attire. You made my day! If you are going to D.C. to see TSMrW, I will be most envious. Are you going?

Yes, I will be going down to DC to see TSMrW in CAt--at least once. I have friends who live in the area, so I can kill two birds with one stone, "or whatever I throw, I'll see"

Dollypop, I am green with envy. Please blow him a kiss for the rest of us less fortunates and see if you can't lure him to Broadway again. Some of us never got the chance to see him in person or do the Stage Door autograph routine.
I'm hoping he'll do a play soon. He can let "The Alamo" and "Phantom" hit the theatres this year before he goes off to do a film again. Perhaps you can pass that request to him in person in D.C.! LOL! Aaaah, just some wishful thinking from a devoted but newbie admirer from the other end of NYS!

Someone be sure to tell Dollypop. I'm sure he'll want to get his tickets ASAP so he can have a nice view of TSMrW. (If I can't be there at least others can enjoy the evening!)
Dollypop, not to ask you to break any confidences, but has TSMrW hinted to you about his post-Cat plans yet?
