I don't know, I liked Kerry back when she did BatBoy but I wasn't thrilled with her Audrey. Her understudy Jessica Snow Wilson was good though, well better than Kerry I thought. I wonder who will take up after her...

I saw Kerry over the holidays and was not really impressed, but she was really nice at the stage door. I think the problem with that part is you are either too much like Ellen Greene or not enough. It is hard to make everyone really happy with your character choices.

Even though Alice's performance was just an Ellen Green impression, I thought she was great. That's how the part should be played, really. It would be nice for them to get her to play it on Broadway.

Would Jessica do the show for what they would pay? I'm not cutting on the pay a broadway lead makes, I'd gladly take the pay. How fitting, Joey Fatone is coming in why not get Jessica? LOL

I thought Alice was great from the get-go and didn't understand why she was fired in the first place. I have not seen Kerry play Audrey (or Penny unfortunately) and now, apparently, I never will

I thought she was great in Little Shop but I think it would do wonders to her career if she went and played a really serious character instead of the dumb blonds she has been playing. Good luck to her and hope everything works out!

Well Chenoweth is leaving WICKED, and I personally think she would make a great Audrey. Or Baby Spice.

Actually, when they were making the film in the 80's the producers were seriously considering Barbara Striesand. They eventually of course cast the one and only Ellen Greene, but "made up for it" by having many popular comedians do cameos. How's that for stunt casting?

I saw Alice twice and thought she was AMAZING! But I'm sure she's still pretty bitter over the whole thing and wouldn't *dare* come back as a (gasp) replacement! So, if we're going for stunt casting I second Jessica Simpson. She's got a good voice and a lot of the qualities of the character.

How about an African-American Audrey??? Promote one of the trio. SUDDENLY, SEYMOUR with a little soul would be cool. I was in a production of Little Shop were I (a short little white girl) played Crystal and Twoey was played by this absolutely amazing girl who was Hispanic and she gave all of Twoey's songs a DRV/Mimi edge.
I think it would be cool to open the role to one of the urchins: DeQuina Moore could do an awesome Suddenly Seymour.

Actually, I think this show could work with any cultural background if you think about it. Every nationality/region has a "Skid Row" somewhere. Anyway, Auggie, I think that IS an inspired idea...actually, RobbieJ has been wanting to see that done for a while now, with Heather Headley in the role. I think she's a little too long in the tooth for the role, but the idea is a interesting one.
