What kind of dog is Chowsie in Gypsy? My friend asked me and I had no idea but I though you guys might.

I think it differs in each production.. the dog in the movie is a Yorkshire Terrier, but the dog in the Peters revival was a poodle.

I saw a production where Rose tripped on the top step getting to the stage on her first entrance and nearly squashed Chowsie flat. Then we would have KNOWN Rose was a monster!
