Kinky Lutes?

So I went on Playbill Vault today and the first thing that came up on "On This Date" today (May 21st) was "Kinky Lutes" by "Cydni Pauper" and "Harvey Bonfierstein". Can someone please explain this to me? If there is some obvious reason for this joke, I'm not getting it.
