Posted: 2/17/04 at 4:14pmWhen i saw the national tour it was fabulous!! haha lucky me though because i saw it with Rachael York! she was awesome..i dont believe sehs still in it. well, it is a pretty big show. Its about a production of "the tamming of the shrew" during its out of town tryouts. There are 2 major couples...lill vanessi with fred Grahm and lois lane with bill calhoun who are the main characters. Its a pretty entertainging show. there is lots of dancing like int he number "too darn hott" umm my favortie show stoppers in it is Another Op'nin' another show, why cant u behave, so in love, tom dick and hairy, brush up ur shakespear, and always true to u darinling in my fashion. hah well enjoy the show!!!

Posted: 2/17/04 at 4:15pmIt's about a theatre couple who broke up years ago, but appearing opposite each other in The Taming of the Shrew. There's another subplot about a vixen and her gambling boyfriend that are also in the show. There's a few big dance numbers. It's very funny.

Posted: 2/17/04 at 5:32pmi count myself lucky to have seen Brian and M. Mazzie (sp?) in the broadway revival. those two are so awsome together. you will loooooove this show! it is so funny and entertaining, but still has the ability to make you cry from sadness and happiness.

Posted: 2/17/04 at 9:45pmKiss Me, Kate is one of my absolute favorite shows (saw it on B'way four times)--you're going to love it. AND if you want to see it again and again after tonight, there's a DVD out of the London production with Brent Barrett and Rachel York. Personally, I didn't enjoy it as much as the New York production, but it's good enough to make me all warm and fuzzy anyway!

Omigosh! That's it! "Brush up your Shakespeare" is from Kiss Me Kate. A couple of us were trying to figure out which musical it was from. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I love "Kiss Me Kate" I can't believe I didn't connect the two. I watched my boyfriend in a production umpteen times in college.
So fun!

Kiss Me Kate is a great show. It has great music and a story that is truly a classic.
I saw the orignal cast on Broadway and was amazed at the show.
Enjoy and keep an open mind!

Posted: 2/20/04 at 9:32amIt is a wonderfu show. However, it's a non-union tour out now, so you're likely to be seeing 25 year olds right out of college playing Fred and Lili, who are supposed to be Broadway veterans with a long history together...

Posted: 2/20/04 at 11:38amI am sure Marin was wonderful in the Broadway show, but I had the extreme pleasure of seeing Carolee Carmelo in the role and she was Dynamite...now SHE'S someone that a show should be written for - she can do it all and is one of the best singing actresses I've seen in many years. She was wonderful in Parade and she even made The Scarlett Pimpernell bearable...and thats saying a lot since I think its an awful show (no offense to anyone who was in the production).

Oh man, I'm going to be brave and admit that I loathe the show! Maybe it's because I did it last year, but I cringe at the thought of it. Too Darn Hot...I can't even listen to the shampoo commercial that uses it anymore. I do like the song I Hate Men, but Were Thine That Special Face? Come on!
