Kristen Chenoweth in Wild Party Question

Posted: 2/27/06 at 1:55pmI was at Kristin's concert last night and she mentioned that Andrew Lippa asked her to be a part of his Wild Party cast. However, I know she wasn't in the off-broadway production. Does anyone know what happened?

Posted: 2/27/06 at 2:41pmIt's not coming back... Kristin was talking about when she first met Andrew Lippa years ago. She now calls him her "musical soulmate" and he has been her musical director since 1999. I am assuming she was going to do the Wild Party very very early on since the show was performed in 2000.

Ummm, no.
Alix Korey has always been Ms. True. And, frankly, is the best part of the show.
Lippa approached Korey after she did a concert and gave her the song - OLD FASHIONED LOVE STORY. Korey went through it, liked it, gave Lippa some suggestions for rewrites to make it funnier (after all, of all the times Lippa tries to be funny in TWP, this is th eonly song that succeeds).
And the rest is history. Alix Korey went on to play the role, be amazing, and get discovered by me. I went on to see her in ASU and buy her solo recording. I was then introduced to Nikki M. James - and am happy to see her again in LaChiusa's BERNARDA ALBA.

BsoBw i know, i know - Alix Korey is the best thing about that show - i was just trying, unsuccessfully, to be humorous.
if Lippa is Cheno's musical soulmate, that is SAD!

Posted: 2/27/06 at 3:34pmWell Cheno was in the show during its developmental run at the O'neill, right(with Paul Kandel)? What part did she play there?

Posted: 2/27/06 at 3:35pmShe is perfect for Mae although, like others have said, I'm sure the part was too small for her to accept.

In that case, KC was playing QUEENIE.
Who cares? Megan Hilty did a fantastic job playing Queenie in LaChiusa's TWP. Oh, wait. N/M.
