Kristin Chenoweth in concert this evening

Through a contact at work, I was able to get VIP tickets (and go to the after party) to see Kristin Chenoweth at the NJPACK Spotlight Gala this evening. Full disclosure, the tickets were free, but I don't think that affected my enjoyment of the show at all.

I've never seen Chenoweth in a concert performance before, only in musicals, television shows, and her (awful) movies. After seeing her tonight, I would without a doubt see her in concert again.

I was blown away by how good a show she puts on. She's a fantastic entertainer, and had the entire audience with her from the getgo. She definitely has star quality, and tons of charisma. The set list was mostly songs from her new country album, but she worked Popular in, an operetta that I wasn't familiar with, and The Girl in 14G (which she used as her encore). I'm not a fan of country music, but the songs actually kept me entertained. She's just a supreme entertainer...whether you like the music she's singing or not.

I only wish she had been able to perform longer, but it gives me a reason to see her in concert again.

How lucky were you!

I love Kristin and admire her incredible energy and down to earth quality. She's definitely got the vocal chops and is a wonderful actress. I'm cannot wait to see her Lily Garland.
