Kristin Chenoweth on Regis and Kelly

She was just so funny and...real, for lack of a better word. And she made me like Martha even, and I am not a Martha fan.

My favorite Kristin Chenowith TV appearance was years ago, when Letterman was off the "Late Show" because he was having heart surgery. They had a variety of guest hosts fill in -- one of whom was Nathan Lane.
First, Nathan had Mel Brooks come out, who begged and pleaded with him to do this new musical he was writing, "The Producers." He even brandished a contract from his back pocket and got down on his knees. (This was probably a year before the show opened on B'way.)
Then Nathan had Kristin come out. She had just opened in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," and they sang a duet of 'You're Just in Love.' It was wonderful.
And the whole show, now that I think of it, between Brooks and Chenowith, was a little moment in musical theater history.

Posted: 4/27/06 at 7:30pmShe comes across as "real"??? Wow, to me she seems to be putting on an act in every interview I've seen her in. Way over the top, she plays the cutesy pie routine for all its worth and my impression is she's TOTALLY phony. She's also a vastly overrated actress too IMO.

What do you expect from a one-trick pony? Beautifully put by the way!

Bump!
Craig just finished making fun of Broadway musicals and he's been on a 10 minute talk making fun of Lestat and how we've been exposed to too many vampires.
He related Bob Barker to vampires.
He's said something like the next book: "Are you there G-d? It's me Bi-Dracula" It was funny.
And then he was relating the Macarena to Al-Quida and singing it. It was horribly amusing.
Anyway- he just announced Kristin will be on!

Nobody watched it?!?!
Perosnally, I thought she was being a show-off last night. Uhh- she usually is boppity cute but last night...uh.
They gave her a little step stool to get onto the chair. It was amusing. She was talking about how she wants a tall man so she can have 'regular sized' kids.
She was showing off singing. Nearly everything Craig said, she had to sing some kind of thing. And Craig was making fun of Lestat and Kristin was saying how Lestat is her friend and she was really annoyed that Craig was making fun of the show.
Uh- she really urked me last night.

no- she can have feelings and opinions.
However, I do not agree how she expressed them last night.
