Has she gone on for Ana in Chicago yet? Any reviews?

No I dont think so. I know though when she went on in Toronto she was amazing!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY Kristy!
I can't wait to see her! It's my goal to see as many Elphaba's as possible :)
4 different Elphies out of the 5 shows I've seen so far :)
I wonder how Courtney Corey, the Elphaba understudy will be?
I want to see her too!
I think it's encoragerizing (hehe) that both Courtney Corey and Kristy Cates have lighter colored hair...there is hope for me!yay!
I saw her twice in Toronto, and thought she was wonderful. She was actually one of the funnier Elphaba's I have seen. She was also my first ever Elphie so she will always hold a special place in my heart.
ha..that's sweet! my first Elphaba doesn't hold much of a place in my heart...my second and third do though...wow..

what's it matter wha their hair color is? I thought they wore a wig.
Yeah seriously hair color matters almost as much as skin color for the actress playing Elphaba
Not really, superstar. Hair color can EASILY be changed. Skin color....not as much. In Elphaba's case, however, neither really matters because you've got the wig and the green paint. Done.
Yeah but when you see Saycon, you think she's green not black ya know? I dunno, maybe I'm wrong
I think she may be a natural blonde, but all of the candids I see her in, her hair is DEFINITELY brown. :)
Ahhh...Cause her pic in my playbill looked blonde. But it was black and white, so hard to tell.
Stephaniethestar: who was your first Elphaba (who doesn't hold a place in your heart)? I'm just curious...

Ok..in the pictures that are in the Chicago Wicked playbill both Kristy and Courtney look like they have either blonde or light brown hair..I liked that because I have blonde hair and I'll always be cast as the "Glinda-type" so...that's what that was about..
Saycon was my first Elphaba...I was definetly under-whelmed..while she has the power, I didn't like the quality of her voice, and her acting was..ehhh...
Steph and Jenna are my 2nd and 3rd and by far my favorites...
Ehhh. Kristy. ::melts::
Kristy is said to be quite good. Ana was my first elphie, and rightly so!
I'm so excited to hear about Courtney as Elphie. She's a friend from So. Cal. Beyond thrilled for her. PS...a thread from many moons ago about people getting cast from open calls...Courtney went to a Los Angeles Wicked open call.
ohhh...Courtney gives me lots of hope...
she's blonde or light brunette also, no?? I don't need dark hair and eyebrows to be Elphie?? lol

First of all, the Elphie's wear wigs. Hair colour does not matter. If I were to get cast as Elphaba, I'd probably dye mine bright pink or something to freak out all the people who ask that question.
Second of all: Kristy is an amazing Elphie (possibly my favourite). She's the only one (out of the four I've seen - Eden, Idina, Kristy, and Shoshanna) that has acted the part the entire way through, and made her own (different) character choices. Her voice is beautiful - not as "rock/pop" as the others, but she has a gorgeous sound and it's obvious that she was classically trained. Take this from somebody who never ever gives a compliment unless she finds somebody to be spectacular.
Thirdly: I can't comment on Kristy's NATURAL colour, because each time I've met her, it's been different. Can't really see why it's such a hot topic of discussion anyway.
Cheers!

Kristy is a former student of mine and she is a natural blonde. She will be appearing at a benefit for her high school in Napa, California on September 9th.

Ok WHY am I laughing so hard? Yay for hair colours and for playing with hair colours. I agree with KMEP. If I were ever Elphie, I'd dye my hair like...Electric blue or something just to freak everyone out.
